Voice Mashups Defined
Briefly, a mashup is define as a lightweight application that takes data from more than more than one source and puts the data together in an interesting way.
Voice mashups involves a combination involves multiple data sources, triggers, events, and even multiple applications that aren’t hosted by the same service provide and utilize pre-recorded voice to communicate a message.

UPS: A Consumer Voice Mashup Application
Problem: UPS need a signature for the successful delivery of a package. Making unannounced visits to people during the daytime, particularly to residential addresses, often results in the delivery person making two or three visits to the house as people weren’t aware of the package being delivery or that a signature is required.
Solution: UPS has implemented a voice broadcast system to inform customers that they will be receiving a delivery at a particular time and asks that they we present in order to provide a signature.
Results: UPS is able to minimize the number of visits requires to fulfill the delivery and customer receives their package in a timely manner.
