Don LaFontaine’s Health Issues in Full Retreat

April 9, 2008

Don LaFontaine in studioWith treatments finally at an end for a lung infection, Don LaFontaine is on the road to full recovery and has his family to thank. Don’s wife, Nita Whitaker, a former nurse, was the first to realize how serious the situation was and took charge of monitoring her husband’s health during his stay at Cedars Sinai last Fall.

In a recent newsletter, Don shared, “I would have never made it without the endless patience and support of my one-of-a-kind wife and daughters.”

Rudy Gaskins of Push Creative Inc. interviewed Don LaFontaine in the Push Creative Talent Spotlight not too long ago, so if you are hungry for more information, read this candid portrait of Don as Husband, Father and Voiceover Legend.

Later this month, Don and Nita will all be traveling to New York City for a special benefit in support of Alzheimer’s research called “Voices Remember” in which Don will be participating alongside voiceover pals, including Joan Baker.

In a very uniquely staged show of support, performers whose careers and livelihood depend on their vocal talent will honor and remember those who have lost their voices to Alzheimer’s disease.
