With suitcase, laptop and mic in hand professional Australian voice-over artist, Dave Kirwan, has set out on a personal challenge; record voice-overs from as many locations around the world as possible in one year.
How will he do it?
With advancing technologies like Smartphone and tablet apps, such as the Voices.com App, a voice talent can now record from anywhere in the world without missing a beat. The idea for Kirwan’s challenge began with a passion for travel and the realization that voice-over work could be done from any location so long as he could access the internet.
Kirwan has made some impressive tracks so far. To date he has recorded in cities across the United States and Europe including, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Paris, Frankfurt, Honolulu, Madrid, Rome, and Istanbul. Kirwan’s career began as a radio DJ.
He moved on to be a television reporter and host, then focused his career on voice-overs. He moved from Sydney to New York City in 2007 and has been a resident of New York ever since. A percentage of his earnings during the 12 month challenge will be donated to military veteran programs in New York City.
