With movies like “In a World…” hitting the big screen and documentaries like “I Know That Voice” giving a glimpse into the fascinating lives of voice-over performers, public interest in the voice-over industry is on the rise. As public interest continues to grow so too will the careers and services of those who provide voice-overs.
One such company experiencing a growth phase is Edge Studio. Founder and CEO, David Goldberg, recently announced that they will be expanding their team in preparation for continued growth at his voice-over education facility and production studio. Edge Studio will be welcoming Graeme Spicer as Managing Director and Leanne Linsky as Director of Marketing & Community Development. Both have extensive experience in their respective fields and in performing arts.
Linsky has played an integral part in the mergers, acquisitions, and team building exercises in previous roles. In her spare time she is a writer, actor, and stand-up comedian. Linsky says, “I feel very fortunate to work with a team that operates from a place of both integrity and passion. I’m looking forward to improving and increasing our communications within the voice over community while developing additional opportunities for talent and talent seekers to unite, create, and flourish.”
Spicer brings 25 years experience in marketing, strategic planning, business development and operations management in companies from small startups to multi-billion dollar global organizations and is also a working voice actor. “This is a perfect time for me to join the Edge Studio team. David has a clear vision of how Edge can help the voice over community thrive and grow,” says Spicer. “I’m glad I can be a contributor to bringing that vision to reality. I’m very excited about where we’re going in the coming months and years.”
Two key-members of the current Edge Studio team, Joey Schaljo and Kristen Thorne, have also benefited from the expansion and are being promoted to leadership positions within their areas of expertise. Schaljo will now be acting as Director of Education and Thorne will be Director of Production.
Goldberg is positively energized by these new appointments. “I want to spend more of my time doing what I really love – directing sessions, coaching actors, and evangelizing on behalf of the voice over industry,” he says. “Bringing on talented executives with proven track records like Graeme and Leanne, and giving Joey and Kristen increased responsibility to run their business areas, will give me the time to become even more involved in the voice over community, to teach, and to spend time with our clients in the booth.”
Edge Studio specializes in the production of voice recordings, and the training of new and established voice actors, narrators and other spoken word performers.
