Voice-over talent no longer need to live in major urban centers to work in the industry. With an Internet connection and affordable recording equipment, voice talent can easily work from their home studios anywhere in the US and voice a project for someone in England, Japan, or South Africa. With its shrinking borders, work in the voice-over industry is abundant.
However, this shift to online casting and working remotely has created a ripple effect in the careers of many veteran voice talent who are now the solo players in nearly all aspects of their careers. Voice talent now need to possess more than just solid performance skills.
In today’s modern voice-over landscape new and veteran voice actors alike play the part of audio engineer, director, manager, marketer, and accountant. This can be overwhelming to face, particularly for those who worked in the industry prior to the shift online or those who come to it unprepared.
In response to a growing need for voice talent to obtain more business training, professional voice talent and coach, Bill DeWees, is hosting Voice Over Revolution!, a 2-day training event in Las Vegas.

Special guest Dave Courvoisier, a veteran voice talent and local CBS news anchor, will lead a session on how to leverage social media to build a successful voice-over career. Also, adding expertise to the event is Tim Tippets (the VO Tech Guru) who will be sharing strategies on how to record world-class audio from home.
A live webinar with Voices.com Senior Account Manager, Jennifer Smith, will uncover strategies for achieving success in the online marketplace. She will present a live review of a Voices.com profile and provide tips on how attendees can take their web presence to the next level. Smith will also review the auditioning process at Voices.com and talk about the best strategies to get noticed and hired.
“My role at Voices.com is to ensure voice talent are successful on the site.
